In Components you are able to view components that are included in the system. Components are used to classify transactions based on their type of income called restriction and their fund which is a self balancing grouping of accounts and departments.
The grid view will display each components code, and name.
You can print or download a list of components using the printer or excel icons on the right above the grid view.
You can search for components using their code or name and you can filter using the component type.
There is a chart report you can run to display the components by clicking Chart then Print. This report will give you a listing in a formatted way of the selected Component Type.
There are action buttons on the right for each bank account to edit or delete the bank accounts; however, you may not delete a bank account that already has entries or documents issued from them, but you can make them inactive.
When viewing the components you are able to see their component type, code, name, display name, parent, and a description but since components are standardized for all organizations using the systems you cannot edit or delete them.
The Seventh-day Adventist Accounting Manual defines Funds and Restrictions in the following manner:
402.03 Funds – Funds are large groups of accounts that have all the necessary elements of a self balancing ledger; assets, liabilities, net assets, revenue, and expenses. Regardless of how many funds are used, each one must follow the principle of being a self-balancing ledger.
402.05 Restrictions – The restriction segment identifies specific purposes for financial activity and related net asset accounts, and indicates the account is either tithe, non-tithe, or donor-restricted.
